How to buy a new golf stand bag?

I bought a Titleist stand bag last year. It has 6 dividers and I have 14 clubs. You’re going to have to double up some of your clubs in the dividers anyways. I love my bag except for two things that I never thought of during purchsing and that is:

(1) retrieving the clubs in and out of the bag and
(2) making sure that the stand mechanism on the bag allows the bag to fit into a golf cart

Before you buy a bag, go down and try a couple out. Make sure to put some clubs in the bag and carry around the store to see how it feels. Also try putting clubs in and out of the bag to see how the bag performs when putting clubs in/out. If you use the bag and place into a golf cart make sure that you can get the bag into the golf cart without the stand mechanism getting in the way. I have to put my bag sideways in order to get the bag into the golf cart.

Check out the stand to make sure it is durable. Also make sure that the zippers look durable and you have the number of pockets that you need.

The stand bags with 14 dividers are ideal because it’s not a pain to get your golf clubs in and out of the bag and you can keep them organized. Now, if your budget is an issue, I would suggest you go to your local golf store and ask them to find you a good brand from last year that they could give to you at a discounted rate.

Golf shops always try to blow out merhcandise at the end of the year, get to know a golf professional; like myself : To provide advice on the subject. It seems by your question that you are a pretty big dude, so just make sure you don’t get the 4,5,or 6 divider bags because they are typically smaller, you will pay a little more, but you will have a bag that will last for 3-10 years and you can brag about the name haha.
